With the start of a new year, it is time for new travel and new adventure. I have many plans and hopes for 2013 and I am going to share those with you. These are the things you can look forward to seeing on my blog this upcoming year.
I will be leaving February 14th for Morocco. I can’t really say much about this trip because my parents are the ones planning it. Our first family vacation! We are first flying to London, England and meeting with my brother who lives there. We will be there overnight before heading to Marrakesh. I’m hoping to see a bit of London in that 24-hour period since I have never been to the UK before. But that would just be a layover adventure, the true adventure is in Morocco. I’ve wanted to visit Morocco since I was about 13 years old and saw a show about Morocco on Discovery Channel. I’m so excited that I will finally see the desert! Granted, I am still very excited about the markets and Berber culture but, I think seeing the desert will be one of those awe moments that I love.
I am going to continue exploring my own country, specifically Toronto and other areas of Ontario. Despite travelling all over the world, I have yet to see much of Canada. The Parliament Buildings, Niagara Falls, Rocky Mountains, Saskatchewan Ghost Towns, and East Coast Fishing Villages are all things in Canada that I want to see but haven’t. I’m thinking it’s about time to see my own country. I would love to go on a cross-country road trip. We will have to wait and see if that ever happens.
I will (hopefully, if things go as planned) be graduating University in the spring. I want to do some kind of a travel after graduation. I’m thinking somewhere in Central/South America. It’s close enough that it could be a great adventure and completely new experience than anything I have experienced before but, also not be expensive. I will get to see if that one semester of Spanish I took in first year did any good (though, I can say now, it won’t). Nothing is planned towards this idea yet, so it is not a guaranteed adventure. I would like to see at least part of Central/South America before taking off to live somewhere even farther away.
I not only love to travel, but I love living abroad. I always thought that after I finish University, it would be the right time to find a new country to live in again. I’m thinking about New Zealand. I’ve wanted to go there for all the exchanges I’ve done, but it has never worked out. I’ve also always wanted to go to the UK. With my brother living there and loving it, maybe my 24-hours in London would persuade me in that direction instead. Anyways, whichever country I decide, I want to at least figure out the working visa for it in 2013, if not actually pack my bags and head out.
These are my travel plans and hopes for 2013 and I hope you will stay with me for these adventures.
